In addition many choice selections are timed and even native Japanese speakers may find the time window to be too short. The biggest reason for this is that many of the minigames/events/substories require extensive knowledge of the Japanese language, culture, history etc to get the highest reward or sometimes even to make progress.
One thing to note, however, is the fact that this game is extremely import-unfriendly so those with little or no Japanese knowledge may find the much more difficult and time-consuming.
